Probes over experiments

Experiments have become an overused term in the industry. The related term, hypothesis, is even shortened to hypo so it rolls of the corporate bullshitter’s tongue more easily. But keeping the BS aside, it also gives an aura of certainty which is unwarranted in complex (Complexity) situations.

When you are dealing with mysteries, and not puzzles, it might make more sense to call things probes.

Another framing of puzzles vs mysteries, could be problems vs dilemmas. Problems can be solved, but dilemmas can only be managed.
