Content actionability can be a crutch

There is a stylistic obsession for making and consuming actionable things. Most of the times this is useful, but it could also preclude bigger lessons which are applicable across situations. By taking specific strategies too seriously, better tactics and doctrine aren’t developed. Focusing too much on maps might mean that compasses are never discovered or used.
