Agile is the steering wheel

Despite popular perceptions, it’s not the gas pedal1. It’s not called ‘fast’ for a reason. The key is adaptability.

“…whoever can handle the quickest rate of change is the one who survives” - John Boyd

While Speed matters, Agile’s directive is better expressed as: Increase your tempo

And while steering doesn’t seem to have anything to do with speed, it can end up increasing the speed all the same. Imagine a curvy twisty road, and then put yourself in the driver’s seat of a high speed car with not so great maneuverability. Do you see how you will fall behind to a decent car with lower speeds and better steering?
